FEERIC FASHION WEEK 2025 HIGHLIGHTS VOL. I

Feeric Fashion Week closed one of its best editions lit up the streets of Sibiu. For one week, students, emerging and established designers from around the world transformed factories, hangars and other unconventional locations into runways. This edition also highlighted a strong commitment to sustainability, inclusion, and the fusion of art and fashion. After two days of seminars, workshops, and conferences focused on experience and aimed at the educational side of fashion, the runway lights were turned back on and the shows began. This is the first volume of what took place during the 17th edition of Feeric.

HOOLDRA X CARDINALA

“Timeless Threads” stands for thoughtful creation, ethical choices, and lasting impact. Hooldra displays it’s 5th manifesto as a Feeric Hub project. Rooted in responsibility, crafted through deconstruction and second-hand regeneration the new Hooldra collection is
iInspired by the 1960s and shaped by the vision of emerging designers across Europe. Cardinalia Models, strengthen the manifesto by bringing more diversity and inclusivity, because Hooldra is more than just fashion. This is how values take form.

WIJNRUIT

From UK, the the designer Jewel Kaye present his debut collection OP:1. The collection reflects on memory and identity, drawing inspiration from generational motorcycle culture. Using upcycled materials—military canvas, lace, wool, lycra, and custom prints—the collection blends structured silhouettes with modular elements like cropped jackets and detachable sleeves. Each piece transforms fragments of the past into a contemporary fashion narrative.

UFEG

From Ukraine, “TextStyle” is a fashion manifesto that highlights how Ukrainian culture preserves its authenticity despite war and displacement.
Designed by young creatives from Ukranian Fashion Education Group, the collection merges textile and text as symbols of a globally dispersed Ukrainian identity. Inspired by the concept of “shelter suits,” it features modular garments that adapt to the wearer’s needs and mobility.

NEWGIZA UNIVERSITY

From Egypt, Newgiza University brought a collection inspired by Surrealism, explores dreams and the subconscious through fluid silhouettes and recyclable materials blended with satin and velvet. Guided by the figure of an enigmatic muse, each piece challenges conventional beauty with symbolic and dreamlike details.

NEW BULGARIAN UNIVERSITY

From Bulgaria, the group collection of students from New Bulgarian University explores transformation, emotional resilience, and poetic beauty.
Inspired by peonies, baroque, mythology, and alchemy, the collection reflects personal journeys through materials such as lace, silk, velvet, chiffon, satin, and upcycled denim.

ALMOG PINTO COHEN

From Israel and representing Haifa University, “Under My Skin” collection is inspired by designer Almog Pinto Cohen’s deeply personal experience with lipedema—a condition that causes physical discomfort and has a significant emotional impact.
Since treatment involves wearing compression garments, the designer incorporated various types of medical bandages into the collection, visually conveying the lived reality of those facing this challenge in an authentic way. Through this work, she aims to open a dialogue about visibility, inclusivity, and support for health diversity in fashion.

UNIVERSITY AUREL VLAICU

From Romania, the Faculty of Design Aurel VlaicuUniversity of Arad presented a group Collection of BA and MA Graduates, draws inspiration from childhood memories and mistic rituals, blending folklore, mythology, and personal archives with experimental design.
The pieces are handcrafted using embroidery and weaving, with sustainable materials such as vegetal leather and recycled textiles. Each garment becomes a visual story of memory, identity, and transformation.

INSIDE UPCYCLING COUTURE

From Switzerland, the designer Rachelle Nkou brings to Feeric “Appearance of Transition│Transition of Appearance”. The collection explores metamorphosis through the contrast of light and shadow, color and monochrome. Discarded materials are reborn as unique, handcrafted pieces enriched with original prints. Blending soft and structural elements, each creation speaks of resilience, rebirth, and the beauty of inner transformation.

WILCZEWSKA EMILIA

From Poland and representing the Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design, was presented “DOM”, created under the brand WE, a collection inspired by the concept of home as a space of safety and protection.
Oversized silhouettes suggest shelter, while materials like pillows, duvets, and curtains evoke warmth and comfort. The garments are meant to bring peace and reassurance to those facing everyday challenges.

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF ARTS

From Romania, the group collection from the Fashion Department of the National University of Arts BucharestUnarte showcases BA and MA works that explore fashion as visual research and critical discourse. Each piece expresses an identity in formation, blending experimental form, personal narratives, and social commentary. Together, they map the creative and intellectual landscape of a new generation grounded in autonomy and innovation.

MICHAL DURAJ

The designer Michal Duraj from Poland representing Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw presented “Escapism”, a collection inspired by The Virgin Suicides and nostalgic imagined summers. Made from upcycled vintage fabrics: tulle, lace, and worn garments, it builds a delicate and fictional wardrobe.
Faded tones and aged textures evoke time’s passing, turning each piece into a symbol of inner escape and fleeting beauty.

Feeric Fashion Week 2025 is co-financed by the City Hall of Sibiu and the Sibiu County Council, with significant support from primary partners NEPI Rockcastle and Promenada Sibiu.
