Okwuís_Frocentric – The brand fighting domestic violence
Empowering women became a global movement, in the last years, besides other important ecological, social and educational matters that are approached trough different actions and campaigns. Okwuís_Frocentric is the brand fighting domestic violence.
Dr Chichi Menakaya is one of those women whose purpose is to fight and help the victims of domestic violence. She dedicates all her energy and time to this cause and she wants to change their destiny through fashion. Dr Chichi is a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who seeks to inspire individuals through fashion.
So this is how the philanthropic venture Okwuís_Frocentric was born in 2017. Okwuís_Frocentric label was created by Dr Chichi and is a demonstration of how we can harmoniously mix the uniqueness and affluence of African culture with the western values. The profits of this collection are used to sustain the “Foster-a-woman” campaign which is helping the survivors of domestic violence in Africa to start businesses and live better experiences. This fashion line was born out of a passion to empower survivors of domestic violence globally.
“One Africa takes our fashion from London United Kingdom to Cape Town South Africa to reach communities where survivors have not been celebrated. Here we inspire individuals to aspire for greatness and join the campaign against this crime which continues to be predominant in Africa.”
