Founded in 1997, Ukrainian Fashion Week became a unifying force for the industry in Ukraine and the first fashion week not only among the post-Soviet countries but throughout the whole of Central Europe.
During the 50th season of Ukrainian fashion week, held from the 3rd to the 6th of February in Kyiv, the strength of the creative spirit of Ukrainian designers was strongly represented through each runway. To mark this milestone, designers that took part in the first fashion week season in November of 1997 were again part of the official schedule – Serhiy Byzov, Viktor Anisimov, Olena Vorozhbyt and Tetyana Zemskova, – presented their FW22-23 collections on the main catwalk of the country.
The designers of this season, even though very different from each other, looking back, they all seemed like parts of a distinctive and expressive story that was UFW.
One of our favorites has been Dzhus one of the new big talents of Ukrainian fashion, whose abundant creativity, fantasy and good work have all merged together this season into a memorable show, which could even be called her best collection so far.
Many new faces have showed their collection during this season the one that stood out to us was Nick Kichkar who impressed us with his architectural attention to detail and craftsmanship.
We remind you that the celebration of the 25 years of Ukrainian Fashion Week will be full of bright events, presentations, and special projects. Join us for the celebration of the modern Ukrainian fashion anniversary!
