The First Vegan Fashion Week
Very soon the fashion weeks month will start. All the people in the industry will travel the world from New York to London, from there to Milan and then to Paris. There are going to be the best weeks of the highest fashion and after-parties. We will discover the newest trends, we are going to look for the best street-styles and make shopping lists for the next season. But wait a minute, there is something huge appearing on the fashion radar. We are talking about the very First Vegan Fashion Week. It will take place next month in Los Angeles.
The fashion world is facing big changes. Now, brands and designers are becoming more and more conscious about the necessity to be more aware and careful with the impact of their choices on the environment. So having the very First Vegan Fashion Week makes sense inside the sustainability movement.
Los Angeles is the first city to host the Vegan Fashion Week. Why? Because it is the largest city in the United States to ban the sale of fur clothing and accessories. Also, California just past first U.S. ban on animal-tested cosmetics.
Emmanuelle Rienda is the founder of the Vegan Fashion Week and animal rights activist. She told VegNews: “I want to ignite conversations and debates within the industry by educating, elevating and drawing connections between our most important values: our respect for human life, animal rights, and the environment.
“This is a tribute to the animals & an ode to the end of animal exploitation in all forms. This event is an experience where fashion meets activism with a deeply conscious twist.” – Vegan Fashion Week
“Guests will experience a Vegan World at the California Market Center, with a curated selection of animal-free designer pieces on the runway, and a vegan lounge offering cruelty-free fashion, beauty, food and innovative alternatives sourced globally” – Vegan Fashion Week
The Vegan Fashion Week will debut on February 1. For four days the guests will face unique experiences that Emmanuelle Reinda wants to turn into annual meetings. She wants to take this event to other important fashion cities and make the Vegan Fashion Week a standard fashion week in the future.
