Let’s talk sustainability with the most important fashion icon in the Eastern Europe and the Vice President of Feeric Fashion Week, Landiana. She is a muse and one of her goals is to help and promote the emerging designers. Landiana is also an advocate of sustainable fashion and she is showing us today what we can also do to support an eco-friendly fashion.

Discover the 7 aspects one can do in order to promote a sustainable fashion environment that Landiana spoke about in an article on her blog.

More and more people are acting when it comes to sustainable fashion.

There are 7 aspects one can do in order to promote a sustainable fashion environment. Although it is hard to combine them all, due to everyone’s preferences and necessities, it is important to follow some and encourage others to find their own forms of sustainable fashion.

Using on demand or custom made items is one of the 7 aspects. In this way you have high quality and a timeless design – the product of fair and ethical manufacturing processes.

Another one, and one of my favorites is also about repair, redesign and upcycle. It will sound strange, but this brings me closer to my family. How? Well, I grew up with my grandparents that used to fix everything you could possibly imagine. Since I moved from the city where I grew up, I don’t see them that often. But I make sure to call them every time I break something to let them know „new stuff” is on the way. My grandfather is the master of broken heels and my grandmother could take out any stain with her special homemade solutions. If you are ever in need, I’ll give you their number haha.

Now let’s shift the discussion towards loaning, renting and swapping clothes. Gosh how I always loved doing this! From the hundreds of memories that are popping in my mind I’ll tell you about one of them. My mum used to keep the clothes I outgrew for my sister, and there is a 7 years difference between us. But don’t worry. In between, when I was 4 years old, we gave them to her best friend’s new born baby before they actually got to my sister. Funny how now I take clothes from her.

I do this with all my best friends and no, I am never worried something can be ruined. Actually, that even makes me happy, it gives me new stuff for my grandparents.

And the one thing I’ve lately fallen in love with: vintage shopping! It’s like a treasure hunt! So addictive.

What makes me happy when I look at my wardrobe? Seeing that most of my items are from emergent designers, vintage shops or friends.

But you know what makes me happier than buying new clothes? Mixing my old ones to create unique outfits. This being said I prepared for you some examples of what and how many looks you can create with one item. Enjoy!
