The name of this project “Scetate Caruli” which means “Wake up Carolina” is inspired by Salvatore di Giacomo’s poem “Marechiare” about a fishing village in Naples where the project was filmed. A hymn of love sung at the window of the reluctant Carolina, the author’s lightning strike. The salty sea air becomes sweet and the stars shine ready to illuminate the author’s desire hidden behind the unknown. Who is Carolina? The unexplored has always been a driving force for man, who is enraptured by the antagonistic feeling within him. The boat, as a metaphor for action in honor of acts of revolution and love. Carolina, the unknown, the unexplored, protagonist and antagonist of a life in perpetual change.
