#ModicReview: Jean Paul Gaultier – Final Show

There will always be theorists and sybarites who defend to the full that two plus two are four. But it is not those people who were given the gift of seeing beyond. To the rest, there is no doubt that Fashion cannot be understood without the irreverent Gaultier.

Fashion is difference, it is art, it is the expression of an internal cry that cannot be silenced. Fashion is to question why, and that the answer is because I feel like it, cause I want it. And fashion, beyond the confinements some put on it, expresses freedom. Fashion ‘without gender’, which they call now, but the truth is that we have not discovered anything new, and there is Jean Paul to remind us.

The Châtelet theater in Paris was the place chosen for it, its last retrospective show. A huge party of old friends and colleagues, 200 looks that are nothing more than the material story of 50 years of work in Haute Couture by Jean Paul Gaultier. Profitez-en, mesdames et messieurs.

This life story summarized in a runway is the faithful reflection of why to follow an idea. His distorted vision of what was right at the time of dressing led him to be of the great, and like the great, has marked the end of a stage. Thank you, dear Jean Paul.
